Adam is an actor and singer based in San Francisco. He’s a good friend of Drew Piston who I photographed earlier in the year and they perform together from time to time. Adam already has the standard actor headshots so he wanted to go out and do something darker. We went out on a very wet day, even by San Francisco standards. We were confined to one derelict building which had rain pouring in everywhere, not so much fun…
We only took one light with us, a single Profoto Acute 2 D4 which we powered off an Alien Bee Vagabond II Battery. It’s not supposed to work but it does.

This last shot wwas a single 580EX (Gridded & Flagged).

That’s all for now. I don’t know when I’ll post again.
Big thanks to Adam for coming out and getting very wet.

Hang in there matey! All the best.

Thanks Mars.

I’ll keep this brief mate…
“Keep doing what you’re doing and stick with it” … this series of images are killer!!!
Clearly you’re going through a testing time at the moment but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah I know that’s very cliché but it’s true!
Best wishes to you,
Glyn
Hi Glyn
Thanks, I’m working towards a style I want to achieve but it seems to be very elusive. I know the look I want but achieving it is proving technically challenging. Every photo is a step in the process.
Cheers
Paul
